Prior to going on the Soup Diet actually back in the mid part of June I had my blood work taken. I had an overall Cholesterol Level of 164 (is this good) and my HDL was only 28 (Is this bad being it should be at least 40 I was told). Should I doing anything about this? My Triglycerides was also 129. Thanks.

HDL is the roto rooter of cholesterol. It cleans out the bad cholesterol. I just had my annual physical and my HDL was 37 so it was a shade low. My doctor told me to exercise 1/2 hour per day instead of 15 mins and to eat fewer carbs.

An HDL level of 28 is too low. Have you had a physical lately? If not, I would suggest talking about this to your doctor.

Thanks Quantum, I wonder if this can run in the family, my mother say she actually has her HDL is around 29 and he entire life she has never been able to get it higher. She exercises daily and walks often.
